A List of Cages by Robin Roe Review

A List of Cages is about Julian, a boy who struggles with Autism and Adam who struggles with ADHD. However, they live both very different lives. They eventually form an unlikely friendship and Adam finds himself needing to save the boy he once knew...

This book is definitely one of the most moving, touching and emotional book I've ever read. The story was so beautifully written and I loved both Adam and Julian's POV.

I honestly didn't expect this book to affect me the way it did! The content in this book is so mature and serious because it deals with stuff like abuse and mental illness. This book definitely deals with all that depressing stuff but it also discusses the power of love and friendship.

I feel like the most empowering factor of this book was how real everything was. The abuse was definitely really hard for me to read and it got me to tears a lot of the time. Especially as a claustrophobic person there were a few scenes in this book that made me literally want to throw up. I definitely do want to warn everyone again.

BUT, this book as gruesome as it is-this is a book that everyone needs to read. Like this book deserves to be read. I swear to you there is no way that you won't fall in love with this story and the characters.

If I could erase my memory and read this book again I would. This book holds such a deep message of love and life that it would be sad if someone didn't read this.

Overall I rate this book a 5/5 stars! Such a great and powerful book and I would definitely recommend this to anybody over the age of fourteen! This book deserves to be read!

Thank you for reading my review!
