Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

Perfect Chemistry is a YA romance novel that follows two totally different people, breaking the stereotypes and falling in love! This book is set in high school and is full of wit and humor and I just loved it! Oh, and did I mention, ALEX FUENTES! Like, seriously, SWOON. I need an Alex in my life...

Anyway, this book blew me away! I loved every single page of this book and this book is a book based on romance but it travels further in to depth of real life problems that people might be having and I think that is a great aspect of this story! I give this book a 5/5 stars! I wasn't disappointed one bit from the first page to the very last!

Okay, I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for high school romance and high school bad boys. I mean, come on, who isn't? So as soon as I got introduced to the setting of this book, Brittany and Alex, I knew this book was going to be a keeper.

I loved how at there were so many stereotypes in this book because stereotypes is a big issue in society these days. I loved how in the beginning of the book. Brittany and Alex was at the point of hating each other. Alex though Brittany was a spoiled white rich girl who could get anything she wants. Brittany thought that Alex was a gangster with no meaning in his life.

But that's only what it seems like on the outside. As the story progresses, Alex and Brittany's built up walls shatter down bit by bit and the process was beautiful. Both of them were afraid to be vulnerable to the world but as they let their guard down with each other, their connection was once again, beautiful and amazing.

Okay, so I knew from the very beginning that Alex's bet was going to retaliate and hurt Brittany later on. I FREAKING SAW IT COMING! I liked seeing how Alex was conflicted about his feelings toward Brittany because later on it became more than just a bet for him.

I loved seeing how as Brittany and Alex date each other they get to see a little bit of each other's culture. Like when Brittany went to the Mexican wedding and when Alex and Brittany went to a fancy art gala. I did get Alex was upset when they went to the gala just because he was uncomfortable and this stupid artist called him a busboy just because he was Mexican.

I really didn't expect Hector to be the one that killed Alex's father! I never liked Hector and I sensed that Hector was suspicious of something but just not this! I was also really sad when Paco died! He was such a funny side character and a great friend to Alex. I really felt the feels when he died!

After Alex get shot, Alex tells Brittany the whole bet situation to make her leave him. It works and my heart just broke up in to pieces. I get why he did it but just stay together dammit! But later he gets beat up and marked by fire or something painful like that when he tries to leave The Latino Blood for Brittany. That scene was very heartbreaking for me to read but then again proved how much he loved Brit.

I also love how Brittany cares so much for her sister Shelly! Also, Shelly and Alex's interactions are so cute, like seriously!

So those are the majority of my thoughts! What did you think of this book? I will definitely be continuing this series!

Paper Princess by Erin Watt Review

I picked up this book because I was in a romance book mood and this seemed like a fun storyline to begin with. Poor girl finds out that she is rich, starts living in a mansion with five hot boys, goes to a private school and falls in love and all that drama. When I just looked at the storyline, I didn't expect anything other than a fun little story but the reviews for this book were so good that my expectations were pretty high.

Unfortunately, those expectations were not met.

I get that this is a NA romance book and that there will be some graphic scenes in them but there is a difference between that and just plain trashy.

I rate this book a 2.5/5 stars. I personally didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. The storyline was so cliché and I pretty much didn't like any of the characters. But if you enjoyed it, great! I was unfortunately just not able to enjoy it as much.

Okay, so to be honest, there was no scene that I particularly enjoyed. The scenes that stuck with me the most were the ones that I really didn't like.

I get that the main character, Ella, was working at the club as a stripper to help her mom pay her medical bills but I hated how when Ella went to live with the Royals, everybody just started calling her "whore" or "slut." I mean, seriously. Her step brothers kept calling her that and I really didn't like it.

I really didn't like how the brothers kept asking Ella is she slept with their father so that she could live in their house. I felt like this world that Erin Watt has created was just full or rape, drugs and sex.

I also felt that Reed and Ella's relationship was very unnatural. I mean Reed is so hot and cold and one chapter he hates her and all of a sudden, he has feelings for her? Their relationship made me want to puke honestly. Reed mistreated her hundreds of times and each damn time Ella is like "OMG he turns me on" I MEAN COME ON GIRL? SERIOUSLY. GET YOUR HEAD TOGETHER.

I would have liked to see more of Ella's school life. How were Ella's classes? How did she go through them? The story told us that Ella and Easton had chemistry class together and there was absolutely no story behind that! Especially after all the characters made such a big deal about it!

Broke. Do I even have to talk about her? Just, ugh.

Everybody has said that the cliffhanger in this book is mind blowing. Well, not for me. Reed is seen sleeping with Brooke. For me, it was just like, Okay....? It did catch me off guard a bit, I'll admit that but am I interested enough to continue this story? No.

These were my thoughts on the book Paper Hearts. Absolutely no offense to those who enjoyed the book! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Everybody has different tastes right? Will I be continuing this series? Probably not though.

What are your thoughts on the book? Once again, Thank you guys for reading my review!

Happy Last day of Summer! Well, at least for me:)

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover Review

This book. THIS BOOK. If you didn't know already, I am a huge fan of Colleen Hoover. Her books literally never fail to impress me. It Ends With Us is by far the heaviest book that Colleen has ever written. No, I do not mean page wise but I mean topic wise. This wasn't a romance book to giggle over. It was a book that made me think about my moral in life and made me think, "What would I do if I were in that position?"

I have so many things I want to say about this book but it seems I cannot say much without spoiling this book which I absolutely do not want to do! I give this book a solid 4.5/5 stars. I loved this book so much and this is one of those books that stick with you forever! GO READ IT! But keep in mind that this book is NA and it deals with heavy topics.

I feel that this book has changed me as a person and it changed me with just a few words. These were the quotes that stood out to me the most in the book:

"There is no such thing as bad people. We're all just people who sometimes do bad things"

"...And people like my father are the problem. Instead of helping others, people use the worse case scenarios to excuse their own selfishness and greed"

"Maybe love isn't something that comes full circle. It just ebbs and flows, in and out, just like the people in our lives."

THESE THREE QUOTES. They absolutely changed the way I saw and thought about people. This book almost brought me to shame. When we look at criminals, we all say "Oh, he's a bad person. He's a terrible person." So on and so forth. I was one of those people. But the first quote that I mentioned made me think, "What is their story? What drove them do it? If I was in their position, what would I have done?" In no way am I saying what criminals do are right. But, what if they were just misunderstood?

This book shocked me in a lot of ways because I truly didn't know Ryle had a problem with abusive behavior. I honestly felt sympathy for him when he told Lily the story about accidentally killing his brother with a gun when he was six years old but was that a good excuse for him to hurt Lily like that? NO.

I really liked Ryle in the beginning of this book and I honestly didn't feel that much towards Atlas just because I thought he was getting in the way of Ryle and Lily's perfect relationship. But as the story progressed, I warmed up to Atlas and I think by the end of this book, I ended up liking Atlas than I did Ryle.

I honestly praise Colleen's writing in this story. After Ryle's attacks on Lily a couple of times, I was SCARED for Lily. I didn't want her to go near Ryle which is so messed up because by that time they were freaking MARRIED. And when he tried to rape her? HELL NO. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Okay, so I understood Ryle's reason for being mad at Lily and honestly, Lily should've told him about the magnet, the journal and blah blah blah. But his reaction was not okay and I was so glad when Lily finally stepped up and moved out. But she had to go to Atlas.

At first, I really wasn't sure how I felt about Lily staying at Atlas's place. I mean, it was pretty obvious he had feelings for Lily even though he lied to her about having a girlfriend. And when Lily found out she was pregnant with Ryle's baby? That was just added to the complicated mess.

I really enjoyed seeing Atlas and Lily's past story through her diary. When first introduced to the diary, I was Team Ryle and I didn't know much of Atlas. But by the end of the Journal, I loved Atlas so much! I also loved how Lily wrote to Ellen DeGeneres and how Lily and Atlas had this connection between them.

To be honest, I think it wasn't fair how Atlas kept his feelings for Lily hidden from her but he used all sorts of public ways when Lily and Ryle were married to show Lily that he loved her. it was romantic, but a bit selfish.

I really liked the side characters in this story as well! I freaking loved Allysa! She was such a great friend of Lily and honestly, I think everybody deserves an Allysa every once in a while! Marshall was hilarious and I came along to loving his character as well! I loved how he also protected Lily from Ryle at points.

The abuse that follows in this book is so realistic it was scary. It legit gave me the goosebumps. The process of a woman doubting her instincts when she is abused was so realistically shown in this book. When Lily decided to forgive Ryle the first couple times when he hit her, I was like, "IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT YOU LOVE HIM! IF HE HIT YOU, LEAVE HIM!"

But I thought, well if the person I loved did that to me, how hard would it be to leave? I really felt for Lily and when she finally got the bravery and courage to leave Ryle, I freaking clapped for her. She might not have superpowers, but that just officially proved that she was tough and could handle herself. Later on in the story, when Lily's mother gives Lily the pep talk about abuse, that really hit me hard. Not because I have ever experienced abuse EVER in my life, but just because the more I thought about it, the realization of how true it was hit me.

"Every incident chips away at your limit. Every time you choose to stay, it makes the next time that much harder to leave. Eventually, you lose the sight of your limit altogether, because you start to think, 'I've lasted five years now. What's five more?'"

That is the quote that Lily's mother told Lily about leaving.

I was very pleased with the epilogue and Lily's choice in life. I was surprisingly satisfied with Lily's decision to get a divorce with Ryle. She saw things at the long run and if Ryle truly wanted to be a good man and if he truly loved Lily, he would leave her.

I was also very happy that Atlas and Lily got together! I wasn't an Atlas and Lily shipper in the beginning of this book, but by the end, I was right with them! I loved them together and their Finding Nemo love is adorable!

I usually don't quote books in my reviews but this book just had so many memorable ones that I just had to. This book will be in my heart for a long time! Colleen, you've done it again! This book was amazing by all means and I am eagerly waiting for the next story Colleen has to write!

Thank you guys for reading!!!

Alice in ZombieLand by Gena Showalter Book Review

Alice in Zombieland is about a girl, Alice, who always thought her father was crazy. Her father was always paranoid about leaving the house at night and was always very careful. His reason was: Zombies. But onw day, when a swarm of Zombies attack her family, Alice must learn how to fight the zombies and end them once and for all.

Okay, so I really didn't expect that much from this book. I mean, I was just guessing that it would be a fun, easy read that I would enjoy but not immensely. Well, BOY WAS I WRONG!

I really loved this book! I loved the plotline, story, the characters and Gena Showalter's writing style! I loved that even though Alice has been through so much, she isn't a whiny character that relies on the male character for help. She learns how to fight the zombies and is total kick ass by the end of this book! The relationships were great and the even though the synopsis of the book is very dark, Gena mixed in great humor in her writing that brightened up the story!

I give this book a solid 4.5/5 stars! There were no boring parts in the book and I will definitely be continuing this series! If you love zombies like I do, you should definitely pick this one up! Even if you don't, read it for the storyline! Trust me, this one is a keeper.

1. SO...FAMILY DIES AND WE FIND OUT ABOUT THE ZOMBIES. Okay, so to be honest, in the beginning of the book when Alice's father was all paranoid and nobody believed him, it was kind of obvious that he was speaking the truth. I mean, come on, look at the title! I KNEW something bad was going to happen when the family went to Emma's recital on Alice's birthday!

2.COLE, KAT AND THE GANG. I think my favorite character in the book was Kat. She was full of spunk and wit and was such a great friend to Alice! When I found out about her illness, I felt SO FREAKING SAD! She is such a great sidekick and I absolutely shipped her with Frosty the whole time! In the beginning of the book, I really didn't like Frosty that much. But as the story progressed and as I learned more about him and his reasons, I grew to love him! Now, Cole. I liked him. Did I love him? Not really.

Love relationship wise, I think the romance between Alice and Cole sped up a bit too fast. Yes, they felt mutual attraction in the beginning but I just thought that they liked each other way too much starting from the beginning. There was no slow burn romance that I liked to see in books. I guess because they saw visions through each other, they kind of knew what was going to happen between hem and that kind of allowed their relationship to progress faster. I have so many questions about the visions? HOW DO THEY WORK?

3. ZOMBIE SLAYING RULES. So, apparently in this book, you can't just outright kill zombies! There were so many rules on how to kill zombies, leaving boy forms in to spirits and all that stuff! I had to say it was kind of confusing a tad bit in the beginning but after a few chapters I totally got the hang of it and thought it was really cool!

4. EMMA AND ZOMBIE DAD? To be honest, I liked Emma but I didn't really feel that much about her death just because I didn't know her that well. But, now, she is a freaking GHOST! Or angel. Or whatever. I know Gena was trying to keep the suspense up and everything, but if ghost Emma told Alice that their dad turned in to zombie earlier, she could have prevented so much crap from happening! Oh, and Alice's dad being a zombie. I honestly saw it coming ever since Cole suggested it to Alice.

5.THE JOURNAL AND DR.WRIGHT. Oh, the mystery! Who wrote the journal? How can Alice crack the code and read the journal when nobody else can? I also totally didn't see Dr.Wright betraying the team like that! Even though she was cranky and strict, I really trusted her so her betrayal hit me harder than the fact that Alice's father was a zombie.

So, these are my initial thoughts of Alice in Zombie Land! What are your thoughts of the book? I highly enjoyed it and I will definitely be continuing this series soon! Thank you guys for reading my review!!!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts1&2 Review

This review will contain a SPOILER and a NON-SPOILER section! You will be warned throughout each section so even if you didn't read the book yet, don't worry! You can still read the review!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child! I seriously didn't think this day would ever come! This book is a story that takes place 19 years later, after the events of the seventh book. It follows the story of Harry Potter himself and his son, Albus, who has to carry the weight of being Harry Potter's son!

This book is in script format, which I already knew about when I was going in to the book. Honestly the script format didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. I adapted to the script format pretty quickly! There were lots of plot twists here and there and I loved getting to see the beloved characters from my childhood again as adults!

Now, did this book have the J.K Rowling magic the past seven harry potter books had Sadly, no. We have to remember that this book isn't written by J.K Rowling, but only based upon her stories of Harry Potter. it is written by a completely different person, Jack Thorne, so of course he couldn't capture the magic that Rowling was able to. The writing of the script didn't attack me with feels the way Rowling's writing did, but did that mean the story and the writing was bad? Not at all!

I really enjoyed this book! I read this book in about a good four hours and I am writing this review right after I finished the book! I rate this book a 4/5 stars! I loved getting back in to the wizarding world and seeing all of the characters! I feel that this book really helped us get over the series in general you know?

So this book was full of NON STOP SURPRISES!

1. I mean like seriously! First of all, Albus, Harry Potter's son, being in SLYTHERIN? I mean that was totally unexpected! I mean maybe I should've seen it coming since Albus was so worried about what house he would be put in before he went to Hogwarts.

2. ALBUS AND SCORPIUS! Omg I totally didn't see their friendship coming! I absolutely loved the connection they had especially because they were both going through similar situations with their fathers! They were both lonely and felt pressured by their dads of some sort nd I loved how they confided in each other for help!

3. ROSE GRANGER WEASLEY...Um...I was kind of disappointed about her in this book because we just really didn't get to know that much about her! I mean, other than the fact that very much like her mother, Hermione, she loves school, learning etc. we really didn't get that much about her! I also didn't like how judgmental she was against the Slytherins! I mean, she had good reasoning but Albus had a good reason to hate the Slytherins at the beginning of the book and did he? Nope.

4. CEDRIC DIGGORY??? Okay, so I read the HP series when I was a kid so I never really cared about Cedric Diggory that much! I mean, everybody around me was talking about how great he was and I was just like "UM...yeah" To me, he just didn't affect me that much as some of the other characters did. I REALLY didn't like Amos in this book. Sure, Harry had some relevance to Cedric's death. But you can't really blame for Harry for all that has happened!

5. TIME TURNING...Okay, so this is where things get super messed up! When Albus and Scorpius tried to use the Time Turner to save Cedric, I was like "NOOOO" because I knew it wouldn't end well! And they kept on messing up OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN! The book really scared the crap out of me when Albus and Scorpius messed up the timeline so that Voldemort won the battle of Hogwarts and the whole world was dark and AHHHH.

Yeah, things got really messed up there

 6. DELPHI...Well that crazy (I can't cuss here right?) "brat" turned out to be freaking VOLDEMORT'S DAUGHTER! Oh and guess what? Her mom is Bellatrix Lestrange! I seriously never saw that coming! I don't even want to think about, seriously yuck.

Anyway, I never really liked her but when she tried to fulfill her stupid prophecy to help her father, things get even messier! But thankfully, Scorpius, being the nerd he is and Albus being so brave helped Harry and the gang find them in the timeline and they all defeated Delphi together!

7. ROSE AND SCORPIUS? ALBUS AND SCORPIUS? Okay, so the HP fandom is officially going crazy because some people ship Rose and Scorpius and some people Albus and Scorpius! I honestly didn't feel a special connection between Rose and Scorpius! I mean, yes, Scorpius was drooling after Rose since the beginning but Albus and Scorpius had so many moments together throughout the book that screamed a little more than bromance. But the book seems to hint that they are both in to girls, so whoever Scorpius and Albus end up with, I'll be happy with it!

Overall, I loved this book! I think it was a good wrap up to the amazing series and I feel like this book gave us a more final goodbye. Like, you know what I mean? I could say goodbye to the characters more easily knowing and going through their lives 19 years later! This series is a true legend and I loved every part of it:) I would gladly read the series and this book all over again!

The Moth and The Flame by Renee Ahdieh Review

The Moth and the Flame is a short Novella based on the world of The Wrath and The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh! You guys should definitely check The Rose and the Dagger out! It is absolutely amazing! It is a dualogy and I have a review of the second book of the series, The Rose and the Dagger if you want to check it out! Click here: The Rose and the Dagger Review

There will be some minor spoilers in this review:)

This novella is about Despina and Captain Al-Khoury, or Jalal. These characters appeared in the series and I honestly didn't know that much about them so this novella really helped me get to know the characters better!

I LOVED Despina in this book! I honestly didn't really like or hate her in the series, even after the second book happened and even after the role she played. I just didn't care that much about her in general but this book introduced me to her clever mindset and her family values! She is portrayed as very keen and sly in the series but in this novella I got to see a whole new side of her and I really enjoyed that!

Jalal was another character I got to thoroughly enjoy! He was funny, quirky and a bit of a woman seeking man...okay, a VERY woman seeing man, but I liked how he was charmed by Despina's cleverness and wit. I liked him in the series and I grew to like him even more in this novella!

So...the ending of this novella kind of caught me off guard. Okay, Renee Ahdieh is a fantastic writer. She knows how to set up her storylines, plots and she sure as hell writes a phenomenal ending. But this book...well.

The ending was a bit rushed for me. I could see that Renee was trying to connect this novella so that it would kind of be the story right before the events of the first book. The Wrath and the Dawn happened. But I feel like there was a bit more story to Jalal and Despina than a mere four chapters! It might just be an avid reader fan talking but I seriously wanted more!

I was already aware of what would happen to Despina by the end of this novella(no, she doesn't die) because it was already revealed in the second book so it was no biggie surprise for me but did it take me off guard just a bit? Yes!

Overall, I think this novella is a beautiful and worthy addition to the amazing series The Wrath and the Dawn! It took me like less than thirty minutes to finish this novella so if you read this series (if you haven't, do so now!) go pick it up! Trust me you're not wasting your time! And it's only $1.99 so BARGAIN!!!

Thank you guys for reading my review! I hope you guys enjoyed it!

Summer Reading: How did it go?

So, Summer went by like a quick snap of the fingers, didn't it? I mean, it went by SO fast! TOO FAST!

This summer was probably the most busiest summer for me because I took two courses of summer school and it was pretty hard and challenging! I didn't go on Vacation but I had Cross Country practice all throughout the summer and Let's admit it, I was lazy.

So, what DID I do? What did I read and what did I watch? What did I do when I was bored I am going to fill you in on how my ten weeks of summer went by!

So, Like I mentioned, I didn't read a ton, but I did read some fantastic books! I don't keep track of what I read (which I am going to start doing!) so I will tell you some of my honorable favorites! These books are absolutely fantastic and they are great reads!

I've read more than these two books, obviously, but these two books stood out to me the most! They are absolutely fantastic, filled with rich dialogue and amazing plotlines and characters! Pick these two books up! You won't regret it!

If you didn't know, I am a huge lover of movies! Like seriously, I watch so many movies you have to roll me out of theatre at times! This summer I watched new movies and some old movies and I will show you the movies that I have watched!

  • All of the Harry Potter Films! I seriously loved all of them and fell in love once again! 5/5 stars
  • Me Before you! This movie was heartwarming and brilliant! A definite 5/5 stars!
  • Kung Fu panda 3! Hilarious and charming as always! But not as good as the first two films. 4/5 stars
  • Room! A spectacular, phenomenal movie with a suspenseful plot and storyline! I just loved it so much! This movie is meant for older audiences! 5/5 stars!
  • Coraline! I watched this movie seven years ago as a kid and I remember being so afraid of this movie but I watched it again and this movie is surely something! Great message and a satisfying story! 4/5 stars!
  • Hot Pursuit! Funny and charming! Not much to say, it does have a weak plot but overall enjoyable! 3/5 stars
  • Finding Dory! Funny and heartwarming! It gave me a nostalgic feeling and I highly enjoyed it! 4/5 stars!
  • Alice through the looking glass! Heart warming and delivers a great message and I even teared up at the end! 4/5 stars!
  • The Secret Life of Pets! Such a cute and hilarious movie! it did give me the Toy Story feels but that doesn't mean it was a toy story rip off. It did have a stand of it's own and I highly enjoyed it!  4/5 stars!
I REALLY DID WATCH A LOT....

I got introduced to so many shows this summer and I love them all so much! I binged all of them so hard and AHH I just loved them! These are not all the shows that I watch, but just the one I got introduced to and watched during the summer.

  • One Tree Hill- I binged this show on Netflix and it was so good! OMG it is definitely one of the best TV shows out there and it will always be remembered by me as one of the best TV shows that I have ever watched!
  • The Flash-OMFG. I literally started this show a week ago and I am in LOVE. I'm on the second season right now and it is so good! I cannot wait for the third season to come out this October! And for all you Harry Potter fans, TOM FELTON, A.K.A DRACO MALFOY, WILL BE A SERIES REGULAR STARTING SEASON 3!!! (Fangirls and screams)
  • Dance Moms-Okay, so this is a dance reality show about kids who dance and it is so dramatic but also very fun to watch! I honestly stopped watching after Season 3 just because THE FLASH came up in my life but you should go give it a try if you want some SERIOUS DRAMA.
  • Friends-I started this show a few months ago and finished it this summer and AHH! Friends is seriously like a comic legend! I loved every episode and laughed at each one it was CRAZY! I am definitely going to watch it again!

I have an Author Meet experience post if you want to read more in detail about the experience! I got to meet Marie Lu, Renee Ahdieh, Alwyn Hamilton and Romina Russell!

They were obviously awesome because you know, well, they're AUTHORS! AND THEY HAVE FREAKING AMAZING KICK ASS BOOKS!

So...Yeah! That was pretty much my summer! It wasn't anything super exciting but you know what? I LOVED IT! I was in my zone and I was doing pretty much everything before school starts again! I probably won't be able to read as much during the school year which I am super afraid of but I'll manage:)\

What did YOU guys do during the summer? Recommend me books, movies, TV shows, ANYTHING and I'll check it out! Thanks for reading this post guys and have a happy rest of your summer!

School is starting and I am excited!!!

(And scared but oh, whatever)
